About the Institute

The Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy was established by Clinical Herbalist, Aromatherapist and Acupuncture practitioner, Gabriel Mojay in London, England in 1990. For three decades the Institute provided accredited live training – in the last two decades, from its teaching facilities based at Regent University, London.

The institute's main professional Diploma Course in holistic clinical Aromatherapy and therapeutic massage was accompanied by an evolving program of advanced CE courses in  scientific, TCM-energetic, esoteric, and bodywork dimensions of the therapeutic use of essential oils and their associated aromatic herbs. Its range of expert faculty members included leading Clinical Aromatherapist Rhiannon Lewis, with whom Gabriel edited the International Journal of Clinical Aromatherapy as Associate Editor from 2014-2018, and who hosts the International Clinical Aromatherapy Network professional forum, for which Gabriel is a supporting Fellow.

In 2020, Gabriel Mojay r elocated to the United States, where he was raised until aged 15, in Maryland. Today he is based in California, and is busy setting up a live training center not far from Yosemite National Park. In the meantime, the Institute will be offering training programs online, starting with Essential Oils, Herbs And Astrology: The Inner Healing Journey,
